Interesting. Romney pulled this out before Michigan & Super Tuesday. What does that mean? Does Romney think he can put the race away by Super Tuesday? Is he nervous about Michigan? Is he fighting against a view of him as corporate elite, and a view that Santorum is “wholesome”?

  2. SixMom Says:

Romney keeps his softer personal side under wraps, but every once in a while he lets it show. Closing a company down and transporting all the employees to search for a missing teen… Who does that?

There are many good people in this world who do wonderful things. It’s good to know Romney is part of that crowd,

um, MISTAKE time (just a small one):

Mitt’s SuperPAC re-did this ad (which is a great one, by the way) with little changes. Politico has the lame story implying there was some coordination. I’m glad the SuperPAC is picking this up

    http://www.politico.com/blogs/burns-haberman/2012/02/proromney-super-pac-runs-footage-from-romney-ad-115370.html

I hope the SuperPAC and Mitt’s campaign start running more of these positive ads. He also did incredible things with the Olympics, Bain (maybe for the general with employees/CEOs of the companies that he saved), and on his mission (saved a woman from being raped and got beat up so bad he got sent to the hospital). He also should play up a bit more about his marriage and being a grandpa.

Also, can’t WAIT for Mitt of Paul to make the “take one for the team” and “it was against my principles, but I voted for it” “yeah, I voted for Title 10 even though it supported Planned Parenthood, that I don’t agree with”. Santorum is toast.

  4. Jerald Says:

Yes, about time they drop the modesty and start getting some of this stuff out there.

There’s way more good stuff about Mitt than the few negative things that get played on an endless loop…

  5. Matt "MWS" Says:

Very well done, except the fact that Mitt legally has to approve the praising of himself at the end. That sort of detracts, but that’s the law.

Very good ad though, and humanizes Mitt.

Ironic though, that earlier today Rombots were bragging that Mitt never brags about all the awesome things he does.

  6. Booyeah Says:

This is Romney 2008 ad. The SuperPAC ad is called Saved.

  7. eric Says:

when is out for next MI poll?

after debate, it is very funny

It is unfortunate that a humble man must blow his own horn in order to get elected, after all, no one else will.

    2008…

  10. eric Says:

    Carig is back :-)

  11. aspire Says:

Here’s the Restore our Future ad, which is the one actually being run. Basically the same thing though.

  12. awrealtor Says:

Such a pathetic attempt to claim that President Obama is not a U.S. citizen and that he is muslim. Your base may buy into that propaganda, but it will not work in the general election.

  13. My Man Mitt 4 President Says:

    12. WHAT are you talking about???? Who are you a troll?

  14. Liz Says:

This is nothing. There’s better stuff about this guy.

  15. haner Says:

New Michigan Rosetta Stone poll after debate has Romney at 36 and Santorum at 33.

    Among registered Republicans in Michigan:

    Romney 42
    Santorum 33
    Paul 8
    Gingrich 8

Santorum is only still close to Romney because Democrats in Michigan are going for Santorum 36 versus Romney 3 (three percent).

  16. Dave Says:

The Rosetta Stone poll is good, but it suggests a lot of interference from Democrats. They don’t want to face Romney…..can’t blame them.

MWS, getting Mitt to release anything like this has been like pulling teeth according to the grape vine. Almost all of the good information about him comes for sources other than the man himself.

I believe even the clip in this ad is from an old interview from the 2008 cycle that did not originate from the Romney campaign.

The story is actually quite long and amazing about how Mitt & Company went in to find this girl after the police had given up hope.

If I have time later, I’ll try to find a link for you.

Anyway, we would all be better servered if Mitt would tell us HOW he turned around companies, HOW his saved the Olympics, WHAT he actually did in MA, etc., etc.

But instead of telling the story himself, he lets other people define him…stupid mistake if you want to be a politician.

If only Mitt has a few Trump or Gingrich genes…

  18. Not Your Severely Constipated Daddy Says:

Matt, you just can’t praise Romney, ever, without being a jerk in the same breath.

  19. okc mom for mitt Says:

9 & 10 Craig, we really need you to be for Santorum to close the deal for Romney! :)

  20. TruthBeTold Says:

This ad basically acknowledges that Romney’s negatives are getting too high.

  21. wateredseedsforJESUS Says:

This reminds me of the ron paul ad put out by revolutionpac…where the black man says ron helped his wife when no one else would. The baby died, but ron paul said the bill would be taken care of…and it was. These are an effective narrative of the CHARACTER of an individual…but do little to pursuade people that they are okay on the issues.

BTW: Last night was the Natrona county caucus here in wyoming. I went in believing that i would only have an opportunity to vote for 1 of the 4 people running(no write ins)….but when i got my ballot, it had a place for write ins. I asked the county chairman if they would actually count my vote if i wrote someone in. He said that he would read it. So i voted for mike huckabee. So huckabee got at least one vote(and when the chairman read his name it drew applause).

  22. Nodaker Says:

#3 – Ummm, I’ve heard a lot of stories about Romney, but I have NEVER heard that story about Romney being on his LDS mission and saving a woman and getting beat up and going to the hospital. Is this “insider source” stuff, or is there some actual record of that somewhere? Any link anywhere that sources this? Never heard it before – I like some kind of evidence for the story.
