Looks like California Republicans are fairly sane!

Wow. Do we habe numbers to compare it to from any prior cycles?
Only 1 in 10 Republicans is “very satisfied” with the candidates. Half the number from Sept.

California Republicans (like me) are still sane! Yes!

Interesting question. How would you answer it?
Right now, I see Mitt as the only real, viable option. Both to beat Obama, and be a potentially great POTUS.
But the question is “candidateS”. When Plural, I’m dissatisfied with this field as well.

Mark,
I’m very dissatisfied.

220 Registered Republicans! Are you kidding me. Field Poll needs to hire some more phone callers.

Sure would like to see some of these numbers improve.

lol. hopefully Mitt wins, and disappoints all your fears.

The phrasing of the question is poor. It should be “If Candidate X wins the nomination, how satisfied would you be with his nomination?”
Phrased that way, I bet approval would be much higher.

#2 Quinnipiac just released a poll that has Chris Christie leading in the non-candidate race for the nomination beating Palin and Jeb by 12 points. The ‘unatisfied’ will probably settle for him as the no. 2 on the ticket.
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:11 pm
BC,
I saw that. I was fairly surprised Ryan wasn’t included in the poll. He’s more often speculated about than Christie is. Of course, Christie has a higher national profile but Ryan, at least, has a higher profile than Daniels, who rank-in-file Republicans had never even heard of before his SOTU rebuttal.
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:17 pm
I would not settle for Christie being on the ticket.
If Romney wins the nomination, he should pick someone balances out his weaknesses. If Santorum wins the nomination, ditto. If Newt…wait that’s never going to happen.

#10 Jeb has the wrong last name, not enough time since his brother and Palin is a great cheerleader but NOT presidential!

It took them seven days to poll 220 people?
What a worthless piece of bulloney.

Given the dates this was taken during, the numbers should improve for Mitt. But, as it is, even with this margin, he could win an overwhelming majority of the delegates from the state.
California is proportional, giving a set number of delegates to the winner of each CD. Last time it was 3 per district, and even though he was close in votes, Mitt won very few delegates. McCain won 35 CDs by less than 5 points. Most of them were a lot closer than that.
And the exit polls showed that he lost them on the electability argument. LOL!! As if McCain could have beaten Obama!

I’ve floated several names for Mitt’s VP, but Christie is the best, followed by McDonnell. There are several others that would be acceptable, but whoever it is, it MUST be a loyalist…..someone like the 2 I’ve listed, or Thune, Pawlenty, Snyder, Haley, Ayotte, or Porter.

I must be dyslexic, I read that as “disappoints all four years.”
