Me see trend for Romney. Me like it.
February 22nd, 2012 at 1:23 pm
The nationwide presidential poll is meaningless. These polls are just a lagging indicator of what the GOP electorate thought the week before. The Santorum lead in this poll lags behind the reality of a slight Romney surge. In 7 days we will see a poll that reflects what the GOP thinks today.

Santorums Favorables are horrible, and they will be even worse in a few weeks. And if he becomes the nominee of this party, his unapprovals would soar above 60% b/c of his statements on religion and Women

2. So you’re saying a week ago Romney had it tied up again?
February 22nd, 2012 at 1:28 pm
Yes, they’re late, but they do show shifting trends. Bottom line is that it’s pretty clear the sheen of those victories has been scuffed up by Santorum’s recent crazy statements, and his past crazy ones.
He just looks completely toxic to mainstream Americans, many of whom are, in fact, Republicans.
Tonight should be extremely interesting. If Romney and Paul sandwich Santorum, and allow Gingrich to rise a bit, goodnight, nurse. Santorum is a hate-filled human being, and I would wager that Romney seeks to put that on display.

Why do they even bother doing a poll of adults? They could at least release the GE results for RV. My guess is that Obama would only be ahead a couple pts and under 50% in a poll of RV or LV against Romney.
February 22nd, 2012 at 1:32 pm
The only reason Obama is over 50% in this is that it’s an adults poll. Romney does the best against Obama, and the race between Mitt and Santorum is essentially tied.
This shows the now clear trend away from Santorum, which could well prove irreversible.

Just watch Santorum’s facial expressions and mannerisms tonight and tell me you don’t feel embarrassed for him?
February 22nd, 2012 at 1:36 pm
Santorum is a pretty good debater and has benefitted from not having to defend his own record up until tonight. He’s thrown nonstop attacks at the front runners, mostly mitt. Not sure if his often incredulous behavior will serve him as the ostensible frontrunner.
Life is different when you’re on top. Here’s to hoping Rick gets a taste of his own medicine.

Newt has to be ticked with his favorables! He is staying until the end to seek revenge.

maybe…..going to need a couple days of Gallup to confirm it.

Highlights from the Josh Romney event in Spokane, WA, yesterday…
Josh visited Spokane, yesterday, and I attended. It was a small venue. Attendees filled the 80 chair room. Attendees appeared to be mostly supporters, but it was all very low key. No cheering.
Josh told some fun stories.
Two stories focused in on the fact that his dad, while very successful and wealthy, is SEVERELY frugal. He HATES to waste money.
It started with Mitt’s father, who grew up in the depression and kept it with him through his entire life and passed it on to Mitt.
Josh said that when his grandfather was a young man, he met Ray Croc (founder of McDonalds) who gave him a card for a free cheeseburger and coke FOR LIFE.
Josh’s grandfather kept that coupon in his wallet his entire life and would drive 30 minutes out of the way to get to a McDonalds, just so he could use the card. The grandkids would stand by, embarrassed while he would argue with McDonald’s staff about the validity of the card. “This is signed by Ray Croc, himself! Do you know who Ray Croc is??” (Most didn’t) But, he always managed to convince them to give him his free cheeseburger and coke!
And, on his dad, Josh said that one time a family friend was staying at their house and decided to go skiing. The friend asked Mitt if he could borrow some ski gloves. Mitt ran down stairs to grab them, apparently excited that his stuff would get more use.
But, when he came back up stairs he said, “I’m a bit embarrassed to lend these to you.” The gloves were covered in duct tape! Mitt said, “I think they need another layer of duct tape.” LOL
Mitt is a wealthy man who hates to waste money. He’s never extravagant. He taught his kids, “Just because you can afford to buy something doesn’t mean you should.”
Josh told the group that Mitt “HAS” to fix things. He hates to see waste and when he goes into a business or the Olympics, or a state, he feels a compulsion to find the waste and inefficiencies and make it right.
Josh described his father as a tireless worker who’s only reason for running for President is because he believes he has the unique ability to apply his experience and turn the country around.
I was really glad I went.

Santorum will get his teeth kicked in tonight when questions focus on his comments about other people’s religions, his comments about women and where they belong and don’t belong, his record as a big-time spender.
Do you put a shopaholic in charge of the national budget?

Here’s a fun spoof on Newt.
Apparently, there’s a popular singer named Adele, who has a song called, Someone Like You.
Well, a group changed the song to “Someone Like Newt” and made it look like Adele is singing it in one of her huge concerts. Very funny.
I’ve never heard her sing, so I don’t know if the fake voice is close to hers, but it sounded good to me.
Check it out:

Loved the song by Adele!
Someone like Newt: “not a shred of ethics in his oversized head.”
