Ron Paul, Baseball Legend

Found this on YouTube. A Ron Paul fan dug up a video of the 1983 Congressional baseball game and added all of the Ron Paul highlights including Paul going 2 for 3 with a single and a double, and catching a fly ball.  Interesting for politics and baseball buffs, not a great argument for the presidency. But 27 years ago, Paul some ball player, at least when competing with fifty year-old Congressmen.

Did Mitt Romney force Catholic hospitals to provide Plan B? Mass. Catholic leader says ‘yes’

    http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/romney-pulled-the-rug-out-from-under-catholic-hospitals-adoption-agencies-m ^ |

    BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS, February 13, 2012,

(LifeSiteNews.com) – As politicians in both political parties debate Mitt Romney’s role in implementing a 2005 statute requiring Catholic hospitals in Massachusetts to dispense Plan B – an “emergency contraceptive” that studies and the pill’s manufacturer have suggested can cause early abortions – a leader in the state’s pro-life movement puts the blame squarely on the former governor.

“The injury to the conscience rights of Catholic hospitals was not done so much so much by the church’s ideological enemies on the Left but by the Romney administration,” C.J. Doyle, executive director of the Catholic Action League, told LifeSiteNews.com. The real harm, he says, came from Romney’s private counsel’s interpretation of a 1975 law that would have respected their religious views.

“It wasn’t the liberals. It wasn’t some liberal court. It was not liberal legislators that caused this interpretation of law,” Doyle said.

“It was the Romney administration” that “injured the conscience rights and religious freedom rights of Catholic hospitals here.”

In 2005, the then-governor ordered Catholic hospitals to offer the “morning-after” pill in the final act of a showdown between church and state that began 30 years earlier.

8- says the guy who adamantly persisted in predicting a Minnesota win for Romney, despite all the evidences. A day before the caucus.

Sorry Ericnamus. You don’t have any credibility left forecasting electoral results.

The bill was vetoed by governor Romney. Read what other Massachusetts prolife groups have written about the subject.

The article clearly references that he vetoed the bill and infers malfeasance as to his motives. Stick to the facts.

No, it can’t. This report you posted was from 2007 and the SEC found no wrongdoing. This subject was brought up in the last election and became a non-issue.

Sounds like ‘Morning Joe’ thinks Santorum matches up against Obama better than Mitt does.

    He makes some good points.

For one, Rick isn’t the 1% stereotypical rich republican.

That would make for a very interesting GE campaign…and Rick’s a fighter.

  23. NoMoreModerates Says:

“Just list me 10, no FIVE of Willard Romney’s BIGGEST faults as a candidate.”

    1. Untrustworthy – polling shows nearly 50% of gop voters (thus a majority of all voters) do not believe Romney holds consistent positions.

    2. Bad Record as Gov – No matter how he spins it, Romney’s record in MA was sub par regardless of political perspective.

    3. Poor political skills – Although Romney has improved on the stump and in debates, he is still gaffe-prone, is easily flustered, and is behind not ahead of the curve. Take his “severely conservative” comment. Any goodwill his CPAC speech garnered was undone by that simple ad hoc phrase.

    4. No common touch – Perhaps Romney’s fatal flaw is the perception of a lack of personal warmth and understanding. Whether its being super rich or super mormon or just aloof, Romney has not made a personal connection with voters. There is little enthusiasm for him even among his supporters. He’s the lima beans on the plate.

    5. Mormon – It deserves a separate category because it’s the elephant in the room. But not because voters are unwilling to vote for a mormon, but because Romney treats it as some deep family secret.

  24. Katechon Says:

20- did some research, and you’re right. Thanks.

  28. NoMoreModerates Says:

    Things I learned this morning:

Santorum takes lead in new CBS/NYTimes poll.

Romney and his superpac make big ad buys in MI, OH and Super Tuesday states.

In 2008, 3/5 of MI primary voters were median income voters, a group Romney has struggled with.

UK and France in danger of losing AAA credit rating. Greek economy contracted 7% in 4th qtr; they are in 5th year of recession. US is NOT Greece!

  29. teledude Says:

    28. YET!

  30. Massachusetts Conservative Says:

    New national poll:

    Santorum – 30%
    Romney – 27%
    Paul – 12%
    Gingrich – 10%

    Notes:

Gingrich has hit his floor, and Santorum STILL isn’t beating Romney. Romney only down by 3 after Santorum makes a huge statement a week ago? Wow. Mitt is in relatively good shape. Everything, of course, will change when the results of Michigan come out, however.

  32. Adam Says:

Why would you run real ads from Romney and Santoum but some “fan dug up a video” and use it to discredit Ron Paul. Why not use ads that actually reflect his goals and his best “argument for the presidency”. Like these:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUNIeOB0whI

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1ggQXs3ygM&feature=related

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=lb0eRy-j8eE

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXCZVmQ74OA&feature=related

If you want to discredit some one do it with real ads not some “fan dug up a video”.

    Adam,

    For future reference:

If you make more than one link in a comment, the site automatically puts it into the “Moderate” queue, and you have to wait for a moderator to green light it.

  34. Adam Says:

Thats Okay. I just wanted to provide more then just one video as evidence. Just in case people might have thought that he only had “one” good video.

  35. Adam Says:

    Thanks though.

  36. wdosmer Says:

For all you history buffs…Dr. Paul batted just ahead of then Maine 2nd district congressman (and future maine governor Jock McKernan…aka, Mr. Olympia Snowe).
