That’s funny, Newt is either most or next to the most liberal candidate we have (not sure who is first, Newt or Paul). No self respecting republican sits down with Nancy and supports cap and trade.
Lamest Commercial Ever! Seriously, none of the candidates are liberal, the Republican so called “establishment” isn’t liberal, and Newt Gingrich is anything but a conservative.
If all the attacks against Newt are false, why not put out a rebuttal of the attacks instead of a blanket statement that they are falsehoods. There is a reason why they are refuting the attacks, and the reason is that the attacks are true.
Newt’s slogan should be “Newt Gingrich, he’s even worse than you thought.”
This ad has a very whiny tone to it. The former Speaker gets incredibly prickly when he’s challenged. It brings out his worst qualities; self-aggrandizement, pettiness, and gross exaggeration of his own accomplishments.
At number 3, don’t forget that Newt destroyed communism, directed the first three star wars movies, invented the moonwalk, produced “thriller,” invented grunge music, taught Michael Jordan how to play basketball, bravely sired who knows how many children even though it wasn’t the politically popular thing to do, and he was the guy that captured Saddam Hussein and shot Osama.
Newt Gingrich went too far when he claimed that “I’ve never favored cap-and-trade.”
It’s true he’s never favored the approach taken by Democrats, but he said in 2007 that he would “strongly support” cap-and-trade if combined with “a tax-incentive program for investing in the solutions.”
Furthermore, Gingrich said in House testimony in 2009 that he still might support a cap-and-trade system covering “the 2,000 most polluting places,” if packaged with incentives for nuclear power and “green coal,” among other things.
That video made me GAG. The part where he takes credit for all the “wonderful” things that happened in our lovely big government establishment while he was “Speaker”. This man is so full of himself. And playing the underdog card? The media has already vetted these claims. Then I get on here and read about how one of his fans is calling another candidate a liar…how on earth could anyone hold their head up high, supporting Newt and tossing the liar label anywhere else?
That is crazy-making narcissism….and it attracts whom it attracts.
Come on, tele. You’re getting inside your own head too much on this. Looking at Newt as a non-fan, he’s been his own worst advertisement. Freddie Mac historian? Patriotic adultery? Greek Isles cruise to get a closer look? Epic Virginia Signature Fail like Pearl Harbor?
He arrogantly ignored the fundamentals, like fundraising. He should have been able to counter negative ads, but he couldn’t be bothered to get the pieces in place necessary to play the dang game right. His entire staff quit on him this last Summer because he wasn’t taking it seriously.
Then in December he caught a bubble and blew it. He had a moment of opportunity and was unprepared for it. Who’s fault is that?
This is why I respected T-Paw and was sorry to see him leave the race. He, at least, respected the process enough to approach it as a full-spectrum candidate.
Mitt would have been committing political malpractice to have outworked Newt and then tie one hand behind his back to level the playing field for Newt so he wouldn’t get squashed. You know that. Stop with the Newt is a victim thing. It’s a totally false narrative, serves no positive purpose, and it looks bush league.
What are you saying? That you are “Establishment” if you aren’t from flyover country? That’s absurd.
“Establishment” is DEFINED as coming from Washington. Washington and Washington insiders ARE the Establishment.
New Yorkers, businessmen, and investors are not the “Establishment.” People who look good in suits are not the “Establishment.” People with desk jobs are not “Establishment.”
It seems a lot of people think the same way you seem to.
today I went ‘cheap’ and got the daily luncheon special, which was:
Grilled Steak Burger – 8-oz grilled steak burger, hand pressed
from chuck steak served on a white or wheat bun $7.99
Add Cheese, Bacon or Mushrooms $0.75 each
This is a horrible ad. You can’t tell if it’s for or against Newt. The eerie videography and conspiratorial narration make it seem like they are knocking Newt.
I got a real kick out of the clip where they talk about Romney’s ad with lies. It’s shows a TV with the image blurred out and is only on screen for about a second.
Tele – Please explain post 17. You call Romney a liar, but it looks pretty clear that Newt was in favor of cap & trade as a concept–even if he didn’t specifically back the DNC plan. To me it seems that your claim of Newt not supporting the concept makes you … ignorant? I wouldn’t want to assume your consistent erroneous claims indicates bad character–”liar”–so I’ll just assume you lack knowledge or IQ.
Since then the ABR crowd has been moving to Ron Paul and now Santorum.
It looks like Santorum will be the last non-Romney to leave the station.
Better get on quick Telly and take Baghdad Craig for Losers with you…we wouldn’t want his huddled, quivering mass to be left, forgotten, in a corner of the station…
As I understand it, they are a Super-PAC that is running out of money. That would explain the poor quality of the ad.
And here we have another example of how S-PACs can often do more harm than good. Many people will think that Gingrich is responsible for this unprofessional piece of garbage, so it will end up hurting Newt more than helping him.
#43: Boomer, it appears Mitt believes it too. They said on Fox this afternoon that Mitt plans to be in IA Tuesday night, that he wouldn’t be doing this if his internal polling didn’t give a pretty clear indication he’s going to win. Stay tuned to the soap opera.
LOL! This might be the funniest ad I have ever seen. So now Ron Paul is the “Republican Establishment”? LOL … what a bunch of desperate, dishonest losers.
9 – You really need to get your head out of your butt. Newt absolutely supported cap and trade, and there are multiple quotes that prove it. You are the one lying and you need to stop.
51 – He tried that argument at first, but it didn’t work so well. Remember how he tried to argue that his experience and connections in Washington would allow him to be a better President?
A couple of things. “Liberal republican establishment” – is there any better reason to vote against Gingrich than he aggrandizes himself at the expense of the republican party?
Also, isn’t it funny that Gingrich’s ad says he was attacked with falsehoods while it shows HIM speaking on the screen. Especially since it appears to be HIM from when he said, “any ad which quotes what I said Sunday is a falsehood”.
It’s almost as if his own campaign wanted to send the subliminal message that he’s a liar.

Is there any good thing that happened during Newt’s adult life that he wasn’t responsible for?
He created 11 million jobs??? LOL

And now… the super pack backing Newt is out of cash?
December 29th, 2011 at 3:39 pm

December 29th, 2011 at 3:43 pm
6. Exactly.
I will always remember Newt as the guy who drew a stick figure of himself at the center of the universe.
December 29th, 2011 at 3:48 pm
IS THERE ANYONE MORE ESTABLISHMENT THAN NEWT? Seriously…that guy is the definition of establishment.
Romney would be a much better non-establishment pick…even having the support of the establishment. At least he never held office in DC.
December 29th, 2011 at 3:50 pm
1. Newt NEVER supported Cap and trade. that is a lie. Typical from the Romney camp.
All they do is lie.
December 29th, 2011 at 3:51 pm
“At least he never held office in DC.”
Only because he couldn’t get elected.
Mitt the liar. It’s going to backfire on him.
December 29th, 2011 at 3:55 pm
Teledude:
Repeat after me:
Give em hell Mitt!
P.S. How was the food at Newt’s event today?

#10:
The only people who complain about negative ads are the ones who can’t afford to run them themselves.
December 29th, 2011 at 3:59 pm
12. No complaints about negative ads.
the complaint is about DISHONEST ads.
December 29th, 2011 at 4:00 pm
#13:
Well then tell Newt to stop running ads and they’ll stop.
December 29th, 2011 at 4:00 pm
Teledude be honest not dishonest.
How was the food today?
December 29th, 2011 at 4:02 pm
11. Newt didn’t provide food.
I did have lunch there before seeing him. It was excellent as always

Good, hopefully Santorum will not break 20%.
December 29th, 2011 at 4:39 pm

Well, for your sake I hope you are right. But I have to say that all signs point to end of Newt’s run.
Sorry, my friend.

The reason Newt can claim to not be from the Establishment is that his Establishment friends have come out of the woodwork to un-endorse him.
December 29th, 2011 at 5:00 pm
Quick, call the Better Business Bureau!!
They are selling ocean front property in Colorado!!

Not a bad choice going for the Grilled Steak burger. White or wheat and what temp for the burger?
Just to show you I read your stuff I would have ordered up the STORM LAKE DIP.

Also, “liberal” Republican establishment? Please.
Amateur hour.

Tele is hit and miss when it comes to candor–more miss than hit lately. Craig is consistent in his intellectual dishonesty.

That’s all I have to say about it. Except for that last sentence. And these other two.

Big crowd in Ames with a ton of media. I’m really starting to think Romney can win Iowa.

December 29th, 2011 at 6:49 pm
Newt = bought and sold by the establishment, he’ll be tough on judges even if it means disobeying the constitution!! What a joke he is.
Ron Paul 2012

Huckabee’s still running that card proudly.

I also liked a recent news clip where Newt was “joking” that he wasn’t allowed to talk because his campaign kept telling him he says stupid stuff.
LOL!
