Bachmann was on some program on Fox last night. She kept blathering about Newt and Mitt being “big spending, big government liberals.” Come on.
Michele lost me when, early on, she said Mitt was for abortion because he refused to sign the SBA pledge–even tho the SBA people defended Mitt saying he was a friend and Mitt had his on policy paper on abortion which was more stringent than the SBA pledge. Totally disingenous.
The IA pastors are pushing her to back out so the voters can coalesce around one SoCon. I heard they did the same thing w/Santorum and Perry. The poor IA pastors. Now they are trying to rallying folks around Santorum. That won’t help poor Michele. Pack it in, girl.
That Onion article is pretty funny, Matt. My favorite part is the fake John Thune quote, which I can’t re-post on here due to the profanity rules. LOL.
I actually really liked that clip because I think it gives insight into what Bachmann really believes. I think she believes as president she would be able to bring others around to her views by being stubborn and refusing to compromise.
#11 – Yes, and Glenn Beck says Santorum might be the next George Washington. Some Romney supporters say he is the next Reagan. This is a great field!
While I support Santorum and I like Romney, I have to say, no one is the next Washington or Reagan. We have to let these guys be themselves and establish their own brand. And if one of them is elected and is a good President, then years down the road people will be looking for the “next Romney,” “next Santorum,” etc.
I think when people say Mitt will be the next Reagan, they’re talking about the impact he’ll have on the country and his ability to work with dems to get good stuff done — just like Reagan. Certainly their personalities and demeanor and style are completely different.
For one thing, Reagan was more of a motivator and a delegater. Romney is also good at delegating but he’s also much more of a hands-on guy. He’ll be the one pouring through documents looking at data to find ways to turn the economy around.

ZOMG. Does she know where Thatcher stood on abortion?
Or is she just trying to boost her name in Google?

Between this comparision and Newt comparing himself to every president, this is getting old, fast.
December 29th, 2011 at 7:53 pm
Not convincing. I was stunned when she said “Not that difficult to turn the economy around”
Naive…simply naive.

Bachmann is probably the least convincing person in the race.

Mitt has a bit different angle. Love it.

Bachmann is Thatcher. Newt is a combination of Churchill and TR. Who says this is a weak field?

12. Good point, afk.

In fairness to Michelle, she didn’t really say anything like, “I’m just like Margaret Thatcher”.
What she said was, “I’d like to be like that”
