Mitt’s overall FAV/UNFAVS advantage over Newt is starting to disappear as fast as his lead in NH

1. Smack- Oh, I thought you were going to explain how Romney has very similar approval numbers among self-identified conservative Republicans to Newt when I’ve been assured time and time again here that True Conservatives hate Romney.
November 30th, 2011 at 11:33 am
Mitt still more favorable to the general public. A vote for Newt is a vote for Obama.
November 30th, 2011 at 11:37 am
A vote for Gingrich is a vote against saving America. It’s a vote for the same kind of slime stuff that’s been going in Washington…..well, since Gingrich was there doing it himself!
November 30th, 2011 at 11:40 am
Polls rise and fall weekly. There is still 4 weeks left. Anyone can still rise and Anyone can still fall. We are not even close to the final polling numbers. Newt peaked too early. Had he peaked 3 weeks from now, he would have been sitting pretty. Now there is room still for a Bachman/Santorum conservative to get a boost when the ABR crowd discovers they dig inot Newt’s past. Rather exciting political race for those that enjoy this stuff.

A vote for Newt is a vote for Obama….hhhuummmmmmm….
Desperation is heavy today.
Newt Gingrich’s #1 policy achievement is Welfare Reform.
Mitt Romney’s #1 policy achievement is Mass Care.
Gingrich/Blackburn 2012……….it’s gonna happen.

5.
It’s funny as hell watching Erick Erickson tie himself in knots trying to justify supporting Gingrich over Romney. He freely admits that Newt has many sins that make him arguably worse than Romney on many levels but he doesn’t care because he’s not Romney.
This election is finally going to expose these self-important blowhards for the hypocrites they are.
November 30th, 2011 at 11:43 am
In a month, Gingrich’s numbers will be worse in all 3 categories, and his numbers in category #1 are bad enough NOW that he can’t get elected.
Mitt can get elected.
November 30th, 2011 at 11:45 am
newt is such a penus, tell me this isnt happening.
November 30th, 2011 at 11:46 am
Erickson is a lightweight all the way around.
November 30th, 2011 at 11:52 am
It has been funny watching a lot of people go after Mitt for changing, yet those same people don’t have a foundation or set of principles to focus on a candidate. I coiuld see it if they were going between candidates with similar principles, but from Palin to Bachman to Gingrich is pretty silly. One extreme to another. That would be my description of waffling or blowing in the wind.
November 30th, 2011 at 11:54 am
10, yes, except literally. The man gets fatter every day.
November 30th, 2011 at 11:56 am
#6……..haha….. Isn’t it funny how there is plenty of TRUTH about Newt out there that just doesn’t match up with his “conservative” sheep’s clothing he’s trying to wear.
What really slays me w/the ABR groupies is that they are so hypocritical. They judge Romney by a standard they judge no one else by.
November 30th, 2011 at 11:58 am
#11 Palin –> Bachmann I could see. Palin –> Gingrich…..oh, my!! Talk about crony capitalism. Talk about what’s wrong w/Washington. Talk about……Gingrich.

9. Funny name. But the comment doesn’t belong here. Hopefully it will get deleted.

Smack 1968
You do have access to the video of Newts debate with Hillary Clinton on healthcare ?
You do remember these quotes from Newt ?
“If I see someone who’s earning over $ 50,000 a year, who has made the calculated decision not to buy healthcare insurance, I’m looking at someone who’s
absolutely irresponsible as anyone ever on welfare. Whatever the appropriate income is, you ought to have health insurance or post a bond.”
” We have no room in this society to have a free rider approach if you’re economically well off and want to cheat your neighbor ”
” You can’t have a rational healthcare system unless you have 100 % coverage ”
” Some aspect of the working poor has to involve a transfer of finances. To ask people in the lowest paying jobs to bear the full burden of their
heathcare is just irrational”
So, I hate to remind you that this is an exact copy of Romney’s MassCare………applied to the national population and was more aggressive than
Hillary wanted. Are you really listening to Gingrich ???? or has he flip flopped again ?

Gingrich has more baggage then any presidential candidate in modern times, maybe ever.
If Gingrich is the nominee, Obama and the Dems will make mince-meat out of him starting the day after the primary election…Gingrich will be spending more time trying to defending himself then talking about the issues….There’s just too much out there.
Even the way he’s financing his candidacy is raising eyebrows with the Federal election people…..The Conservative/Tea Party movements has made the Republican party a joke, and it’s leaving Obama wide open for re election.
November 30th, 2011 at 12:27 pm
I don’t know. Gingrich has so many flaws in so many areas, Obama could have a nervous breakdown trying to decide which items to go after…… or go broke trying to go after them all…..

The flipside of the neocons loathing Ron Paul for threatening to cut off their gravy train is that Ron Paul’s numbers among independents and Democrats are far better than the other two.
November 30th, 2011 at 11:28 pm
19… that is kinda what i was wondering when looking at these numbers.
FAVORABLE % overall for these candidates is in the 30s, but mitt and newt are more highly favored by the Rs that were polled. that means that paul’s favorability must be better among Is and Ds (which are where you need to grab votes to win the presidency). if one assumes that republican’s who don’t really like paul would hold their noses and vote for him over obama then his numbers actually go way up.
what i am saying is paul can attract independents and disillusioned democrats. if the republican base votes for him too then he has a sizable advantage in a potus contest.
