Perry is a drinker, not a toker.

  2. Matt "MWS" Says:

This is what is known as making a virtue out of necessity.

  3. Hot Pocket Says:

As your president, I promise not to read from teleprompters…….

except when shooting commercials where I promise not to read from teleprompters………

  4. John2 Says:

Rick Perry is bought and paid for by the bankers it looks like. Bank of America had one of their clowns caught on video telling Perry they will take care of him.

  5. Ryan60657 Says:

It’s 3:00 a.m. Revolution in Ukraine. Loose nukes.

    I want a talker, not a doer.

Why does Perry think the two are mutually exclusive?

  6. rightgal Says:

I truly think we need a president who can also speak with some ability to be coherent.

I thought this was a good ad. The color scheme and music were upbeat, Perry is good-looking and charismatic, and my guess is the central line resonates with most people (‘doer, not a talker’).

If or when Cain deflates, what are the options? Gingrich, Santorum, Perry, Bachmann, right? My guess is that Perry will pick up a considerable amount of any support that leaves Cain. Perry’s campaign is in more full swing now (for example, he has released his economic plan), and Perry himself is probably getting more up to speed on various issues (which translates into better performances on average in debates and interviews – for example, see the latest Fox interview with Chris Wallace on Sunday). Also, what started Perry’s fall was his comment on immigration – if he can tailor his message, many voters very well may forgive him on it – especially voters who haven’t been paying much attention up until now.

    Ditto.

Good ad for Perry. Simple, upbeat, easy to understand. Perry truly is a likeable guy, at least on the surface. His numbers should come up some from a campaign like this… we’ll see if his completely destroyed campaign has any shot of being revived. (He’s in 7th in NH.)

    lol.

  9. gatorboy Says:

I think we’re going to be looking at a Romney/Perry ticket

  10. petunia Says:

Perry’s whole roll out was handled so badly.

The media should not have puffed him up so much, he was not at all ready for a National audience.

I wanted to give him a shot. He looked really good on paper. But his personality was off putting from the start. I still don’t understand how someone that icky could get elected three times in Texas!

Actually someone like Perry should have a year of focus group testing before they go public. Because his personality just turned me off the first time I say him. It took only a couple of minutes and I knew he was horrible!

Perry can’t get rid of the past few months even with 15 million. For every good ad or appearance there is two really bad ones he is not controlling.

His likability numbers are so low, the word that people in that Ohio polled used to describe him was “bully”.

If a bully attacks, nobody listens to the bully’s point of view, they are a bully. If a bully says something intelligent people just roll there eyes and wonder who they are parroting.

Perry seems barely cognizant of his own positions. And the morph constantly. What exactly is his SS position anyway? Unconstitutional ponzi scheme, or part of the American dream that just needs fixed? He wants it both ways.

Perry’s attacks on Romney mean nothing when Perry’s own record on back tracking and taking several sides to an issue are worse and more recent than Romney’s. It just makes Perry look like a hypocrite.

There is not enough time for to introduce a new Perry, and that would be his only chance.

  11. GNV Says:

We already knew he wasn’t a talker.

  12. Jeff Fuller Says:

So works >> faith? (seems like the same argument to me)

  13. gatorboy Says:

    12.. lol

  14. John Says:

Glad to see an add like this. I hope he keeps spending his money on these rather than trying to tear down others.

  15. RUBIOZONE Says:

Great ad. Perry is a good man and would make a fine president.

  16. sheryl Says:

“Why does Perry think the two are mutually exclusive?”

    That was my first thougtht.

Note to Perry campaign: it’s probably not a good idea to keep reinforcing your candidates faults.

  17. JB Says:

He isn’t a doer of his talk.

    Perry IS NOT the Answer.

  18. Casey Says:

    I still like Mitt better.

    He can do both!

  19. Andrew Ryan Says:

    “I’m not a witch.”

  20. Keith Price Says:

    19. O’donnel? Or, Monty Python?

  21. Andrew Ryan Says:

meh, might as well be both.

  22. Jaxemer11 Says:

What a stupid ad! What has Perry done? All he does is talk (untruthfully) in this ad.

  23. Jaxemer11 Says:

16 – Exactly … Why emphasize the fact that you are a dolt?

  24. aspire Says:

Horrible. Has anybody mad it part of their campaign before that they are a poor communicator? What does a president “do” besides talking?

  25. Nancy Says:

    Good ad!!
    Perry 2012. !!

  26. Frank Says:

I predict that old ladies who like Perry will like this ad.
