While I believe Cain deserves the benefit of the doubt – we have to absolutely make sure we don’t have the potential for another Clinton in the making.
Quite frankly, Cain denying wrongdoing could be an honest answer that he did nothing wrong – or, it could be in the long line of Clinton/Weiner/Spitzer/etc. who first reject claims….then get caught up in their own lies.

While this response makes me feel better for Cain, I have to wonder what the fallout will be. Will Politico back up their sources? Will the sources out themselves and put themselves in the public spotlight (we saw how well that worked out for Anita Hill.)
Frankly, if this is much ado about nothing, the story should be tossed and should not affect people’s opinion. However, people still rail on Mitt being a flip-flopper and he and his allies have shown repeatedly exactly how he has not flip flopped in his statements, but it really does take a high school education to understand the nuance of his positions. (Remember that newspaper articles are written to a 6th or 8th grade reading level.)

His denial at the Press Club had one flaw…
He refused to say he wanted to NRA to release any records they could that showed the allegations were false. He said no because there’s nothing to dig up.
He emphatically stated that he recused himself and that others investigated and concluded no wrong doing. It seems to me that if that were true he would absolutely want the NRA to release that information.
Not resolved, in my mind.
