In the Interest of Full Disclosure…

As ringleader of the Race42012.com circus, I feel it is my duty to be as impartial as I possibly can. I also feel that it is important to let folks know were I stand when it comes to the candidates.

So… In the interest of full disclosure, I have donated $5 to the Mitt Romney campaign in order to qualify for their “Win A Day on the Road with Mitt” contest. Being invited to travel with two presidential candidates was really the highlight of the 2008 cycle for me, and I have not had the opportunity to travel and “blog from the campaign trail” this time around.

Please keep you fingers crossed for me.

P.S. If I make up my mind as to who I am going to endorse or if I contribute money to any of the other campaigns, I will be sure to disclose it right away.

Go in peace. Tell the story.

  2. Perry/Jeb for 2012! Says:

I max out to as many conservatives as I can. But ONLY conservatives, never Dem-Lites.

So of course, I will not be entering Willard’s win a date contest after all.

    But good luck, Kavon :)

  3. Rick Perry/Jeb Bush 2012! Says:

But if Romney happens to beat out Perry by $5 this quarter……..
    we’ll know who to blame.

  4. Rob Says:

I once donated $5.00 to Hillary Clinton to pay off her campaign debt because it was a contest to have dinner with Bill Clinton.

  5. Not Your Promiscuous Daddy Says:

I really want to see your thoroughly written endorsement of Mitt back up on the front page. Sticky it.

  6. Rick Perry/Jeb Bush 2012! Says:

    5.

Kavon does not endorse Romney now.

  7. ogrepete Says:

    LOL – I hope I win, Kavon. ;)

  8. Ryan60657 Says:

In the spirit of being totally impartial, perhaps you should donate $5 to every announced candidate.

  9. Mark in PA Says:

Good luck, Kavon! But I doubt you’ll win unless it truly is random.

Funny, but I don’t really want to spend the day with Mitt. I just want him to get the nomination, beat Obama and deliver on his campaign promises.

  10. Still Hurting Says:

The rules are that the campaign will choose 25 entrants, and then the campaign will choose from those 25. On that basis, as a prospective Romney supporter who has substantial influence, you’s be a good choice, Kavon.

I myself would personally send you if you’d just ban Craig.

In fact, I thought as a way to help bankroll future website developments, we could have a fund-raiser where we pledge money to vote a commenter “off the island.” The person receiving the highest amount of pledged donations is banned for some really long period of time, like till after the election. As far as I can tell, it would serve two very valuable purposes.

And I don’t have any doubt who’d be gone when it was done

  11. Joseph D. Walch Says:

You know, you could have entered into that contest without contributing the $5.

    :-)

You know, you could have entered into that contest without contributing the $5.

  13. Sojourner Truth Says:

This is what Romney now has to worry about that he’s supplanted Perry as the front runner…

    Santorum: Romney is NOT conservative.

  14. Sojourner Truth Says:

“The problem with Mitt Romney is that his positions on a lot — listen to his answer on the issue of education. He was standing behind the federal government’s involvement in education. You see a predilection to supporting these top-down solutions to problems that conservatives generally don’t support. So, I don’t call it compassionate conservative, I just call it not conservative. When you have a governor of a state who says that it was right for Massachusetts to have government control of the health care system, it’s not right for any state because it’s not how America functions best. And while it may be right in the sense that that’s what the Democrats in Massachusetts wanted, it didn’t mean it was right for the state to do it that way,” Former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Penn.) said on the Laura Ingraham program today.

  15. Rick Perry/Jeb Bush 2012! Says:

Some crazy Arizona “hurting” dude wants to get rid of the only regular multi year Huckabee/Perry socon commenter.

    That’s rich!

Must be one of the 86 hardcore Rombots here. I guess 86 to one is too hard to handle now ;)

  16. Rick Perry/Jeb Bush 2012! Says:

    12.

    Kavon,

Get your five dollars back in Romney’s media food & drink spread on the day you arrive.

  17. Shane Says:

$5, huh? Oh sure, just flaunt all your money around. BTW: If you give $5 to a Republican candidate, I think you automatically qualify as “rich” under Obama’s definition of the term, so I hope you are looking forward to your IRS audit. :P

    Good luck in the contest!

  18. Ci2Eye Says:

I hope I win. I’d like to have the opportunity to give Mitt a little advice.

I’d tell him to stop hurriedly saying “Good to be with you, thank you, thank you, thank you so much” at the end of every speech. He needs to mix it up a bit and use different phases.

I’d also tell him to get the kids and grandkids out there a bit more often. They have the power to soften his image and make him more appealing to the vast number of voters that will decide not based on logic and reason but on feeling and emotion.

John F. Kennedy, or more likely, Joe Kennedy knew this in 1960. That campaign brilliantly played up JFK’s large and then youthful and vibrant family.

  19. Jerald Says:

Kavon, if you had to take the plung, AND make full disclosure of it, you should have gone for the max $2,500 contribution ;) :D

  20. @PolitiJim Says:

No surprise to me. I saw the Romney bias first day on the site. Still love the site. Appreciate the disclosure.

  21. Matthew Newman Says:

Since Kavon’s being honest about his donations…I donated $20.12 early on to Herman Cain. I also bought one of his buttons. I don’t regret it.

  22. LCrepublican Says:

I have spend several partial days with Mitt as part of his 2008 campaign in NV. It was awesome! In fact, I was on one of his flyers!!!!!

  23. ccr Says:

Hey! I wanna win! ;-) Hope someone that posts on the sites I frequent is winner! We can all suggest some questions!

  24. Still Hurting Says:

Full disclosure: I did not give $9.99 to Herman Cain.
