Sarah Palin has an excellent essay on her facebook page. Here are some excerpts:
On Monday, during a fundraiser in California, President Obama declared that Europe’s debt problems and their inability to solve them was “scaring the world.” He went on to explain that Europeans “have not fully healed from the crisis back in 2007 and never fully dealt with the challenges that their banking system faced” and that “they’re trying to take responsible actions, but those actions haven’t been quite as quick as they need to be.”

One German newspaper denounced the President’s comments as “overbearing, arrogant, and absurd.” Another wrote: “The gloomy state of the economy is putting a damper on Obama’s future prospects. The optimism of the past is gone, replaced by a cheap search for a scapegoat.” And still another wrote: “That’s not how friends talk to each other. That applies particularly to friends who have themselves failed to get a handle on their own, self-made crisis.”
Can we blame them for feeling this way? Keep in mind this was a President who was supposed to make the rest of the world “like” us again.
This is what happens when we have a leader of the free world that refuses to lead. We get a big stinking mess both domestically and internationally. But oh, did he send a tingle up Chris Matthews’ leg. And one “conservative” pundit was blown away by the sharp crease in Obama’s trousers. He just knew he was in the presence of greatness.

If Sarah is busy writing her thoughts, can she possibly be planning strategy, raising money, or building a network for her candidacy? She is not running, although I wish she would. I would enjoy seeing yet one more Savior come forward, only to be shot down by the sane side of the party.

Oh my gosh can you imagine Perry representing us to Europe? He can’t even speak English! The translators would get confused!
And what kind of standing could he have when he has threatened to secede from the union?
Perry needs to go take a nap. His battery seems to take a whole charge. An intelligence transplant would be helpful as well.
I never thought I would find a Politician that made Sarah look reasonable and stable.

Is it really Europe’s debt problems that are “scaring the world?” Or is it our own debt crisis? We are no better then Greece. We face the same political paralysis that they are facing. Republican’s and Democrats are so entrenched that long term debt reductions seems impossible. It’s not like what is happening in Europe couldn’t happen here. I think we are traveling down the same path. Both Democrats and Republicans should recognize this. We need to get our own house in order.

I know this might seem crazy to some, but doesn’t it make sense to raise taxes on the Warren Buffet’s of the world? I know we all hate raising taxes, but if anyone could help shoulder it, I think it would be the billionaires.
I’m not sure if I completely agree with the “never raise taxes EVER!” sentiment of the Republican party. I think, under the circumstances we would be wise to not only cut spending but raise a little revenue from those who probably won’t miss it much.

While I will agree that Palin is far better at this sort of thing than poor Perry; remember two things:
(1) She likely has help writing her essays. That’s what a staff is for.
(2) She has been at this sort of thing at the national level for far longer than he. She has had to endure considerably more scrutiny by hostile forces than he has ever dreamed of. He’s been the Republican governor of a deeply Republican state. He doesn’t know the meaning of the word “scrutiny” as Sarah knows and understands it. He thinks that all he has to do is show up, talk big, throw some over-the-top verbal bombs, toss in a few bellicose conservative-ish platitudes that don’t really say much, and he wins the race.
Well guess what? He’s in the big leagues now. Mitt and Sarah have been playing here for more than three years now. Perry doesn’t have a clue what he’s up against. He is floundering, and his response seems to be more of the same, just more so. Mitt (and Sarah) have to be grinning ear-to-ear. Whether she is going to enter the race or not, she has to be enjoying watching bombastic Perry going down in flames.

This is pretty much Barry’s M.O.
He lectures and hectors others for the very things he does. He says we need to put aside partisanship for the good of the country, and then tells the country that Republicans only care about millionaires and billionaires. He says we need civility in our discourse, and angry rhetoric contributed to the Giffords shooting. Then he tells his base to “get mad”, and bring guns to the knife fight, and calls for hand to hand combat. He says we can’t continue with these deficits, as he triples the deficit for every year from here to all eternity.
I think the constant lecturing from Obama- as well as the blatant hipocrisy- is a big factor in turning Indies against him.

Excellent point in #17. I think Perry has been blindsided, and slow to realize that what works deep in the heart of Texas doesn’t necessarily translate to the rest of the nation. I think he’s also slow to realize that when you are a player in the big leagues, there are a lot of folks out there trying to destroy you, no matter who you are.

Perry too much slack that he doesn’t deserve.
Mumbling most of the time and being incoherent too often has very little
to do with experience and everything to do with mental capacity,ability
to process information and come up with solid conservative answers.
You are right,after 2 months of campaign we still don’t know where he
stands on most of the issues.
I disagree that Sarah Palin is great in her op-eds,essays and articles
because of her staff.
Remember,she came up with killer analysis of Obamacare with “Death Panels” right after she resigned her governorship,she had no staff,
she was all alone with Todd.
Ricky Perrych has huge staff and he’s still incompetent liberal loser.

The Republican response to this has been “Yes, because Billionaires are awesome.” I suppose you’re right that if Obama was really the “hope and change” unifier he claimed to be, he wouldn’t use this political ploy, but any Democrat with political sense will take advantage of Republicans’ fawning admiration for rich people.
