Poor T-Paw will have them all paw-snoozing until the crowd goes wild as Michelle slowly approaches and then walks on to the stage waving to her thousands to the tune of Tom Petty’s “American Girl”
I don’t really know who Santorum is or what he is all about. His name was thrown around last cycle, and that’s about it. McCotter doesn’t ring any bells either. Looking at the polls, I may never find out.
For a guy who is really staying out of the media, Romney’s doing O.K. Santorum isn’t registering. T-Paw has GOT to win at Ames or he is dead meat. Perry will have an interesting time answering questions that come from Houston this weekend
Santorum and Pawlenty paid the least for their lots and thus had little control over where they would speak in the program.
The Bachmann campaign must want to be able to respond to Pawlenty, who has become somewhat of a sparring partner for her as of late. The Minnesota showdown in the middle of the program will be something everybody will want to watch.
Herman Cain will be a strong speaker to end the day. He is by far the most gifted speaker who will take the stage in Ames.
Do you need a link to tell you the earth is round?
Earlier the better at AMES. Romney was first to choose in 2007 and he slected to go first. Most People do now want to stick around for all the speeches.
You really need a education in politics. It’s a good thing Smackdaddy is hear to provide it for you.
Rollins is in a state of panic. He knows that Bachmann is going to come up short at AMES. The defeat will devastate the Bachmann candidacy. The Bachmann team is making excuses everyday. Now they say Pawlenty isn’t playing fair because he has the support of the “Strong America Now” organization (which I told all of you months ago)
Bachmann is getting outworkedby TPAW….Ayers is running circles around Rollins.
Exactly three weeks out from the Ames Straw Poll, this past weekend the Iowa GOP set the speaking order and the names on the ballot for the event. They are as follows:
Speaking Order (chosen randomly)
Mitt Romney
Tom Tancredo
John Cox
Ron Paul
Mike Huckabee
Duncan Hunter
Tommy Thompson
Sam Brownback
Straw Poll Ballot (alphabetical order)
Brownback
Cox
Giuliani
Huckabee
Hunter
McCain
Paul
Romney
Tancredo
Fred Thompson
Tommy Thompson
I used the same link you used. Of course you left out the part where Romney chosed his spot..which was first.
Funny how you try to pull that stuff.
“Santorum and Pawlenty paid the least for their lots and thus had little control over where they would speak in the program. Ironically, they both landed prime speaking spots. Four years ago, Mitt Romney could pick where he wanted to speak, and chose to lead off the event.”
If TPAW wins AMES by 1 or more vote TPAW will win the Iowa Caucus and will have a ticket all the way to Florida.
If TPAW loses to Bachmann by 1 or more votes then he is done. He may continue to fight, but his chances will be zero. The donors will dry up.
If TPAW does lose at AMES, my first choice at this point will be Mitt Romney…Huntsman will be my second.
Bachmann would be my last…very last. She is a nut job of the highest order. I know who she is…she is my congresswoman. She is just a bomb thrower with no talent. She could never win the Governorship in Minnesota. Pawlenty would crush her in a GOP primary in Minnesota.
You are the one Craig who is making a fool of yourself. You went from supporting a good man to a nut.
I don’t know what happen to you, but it is what it is.
I think you just like red meat. Because Bachmann is a true nut job..who happens to be a bigot, hateful person.

We’ll update as they come in, but Michele Bachmann and Jon Huntsman are the first to respond to the debt-ceiling deal announced tonight by President Obama, with predictable reactions – she is voting against it, while the former Utah governor who’d backed the original John Boehner deal urges support for it.
To those interested in Iowa’s Mr. Conservative Steve Deace…
T-Paw is now on his front page and there’s a video on the right margin regarding T-Paw in Ames.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders says that Tim Pawlenty, for whom she is a senior political advisor, has a better chance at winning the Ames Straw Poll then her dad, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee did. Huckabee took a surprising second to Mitt Romney that year. Huckabee road that wave to an eventual win in the Iowa Caucuses. His daughter says Pawlenty has a better organization than her dad did—so he should do better. But, later in the article, she says that “In the straw poll, I think he just needs to show progress from where he’s been and show that there’s some forward movement. I think he’ll do that. . . . We were polling six or seven [in the] last Des Moines Register poll, which is probably one of the bigger, more credible polls in the state — so ahead of that. Anything better than 6 is progress.”
Seems to me “doing better than her dad” in the Straw Poll means something higher than 2nd . . . which would be a win. But, then later in the same article she says Pawlenty just needs to show forward progress and be higher than 6%. Managing expectations?
Unlike some politicians who have to test the waters or hold up their fingers to check the wind direction before they take a position on an issue, Michele Bachmann is up front and steadfast in her stands —like them or not. And right now, John Boehner, John McCain and the establishment don’t like them at all. She has remained firm in her stance to vote “no” on the Boehner plan as long as it includes raising the debt ceiling. She says she “will not raise taxes, she will cut spending, she will not vote to raise the debt ceiling” and she further says she’s “got the titanium spine to see it through.” There’s really no going back on that position—no matter how many times John McCain calls her a hobbit (or whatever ridiculousness comes out of his next tirade), she cannot back away from this promise and expect to have a real shot for the GOP nomination.
She’s not towing an easy line, either, even though she’s got the Tea Party behind her. The “conventional” media and even many on “our side” are continuing the narrative that we are doomed to default if no deal is reached. Bachmann is forcibly negating that message saying yesterday, “I want to state unequivocally for the world, as well as for the markets, as well as for the American people, I have no doubt that we will not lose the full faith and credit of the United States.”
The Washington Times says the Ames Straw Poll is a must-win (or at least do really well) for the two Minnesotans on the straw poll ticket. In an article yesterday, they quoted Dennis Goldford, a political science professor from Drake, who quips paradoxically that the Straw Poll is “a completely meaningless event with massive political implications.” Uhh. Ok.
He goes on to say that one of the biggest mandates for both Pawlenty and Bachmann is that they must emerge from the event as the “un-Romney” giving voters an alternative to the former Massachusetts governor who has been deemed the “frontrunner” by the media and others.
19. Smack, Huckabee would poll better right now, as a candidate who has said he isnt running, than TPAW does, as a candidate who has been running for 2 years. You are the bitter one because your guy is going nowhere. You keep pouring time and money in just to watch TPAW drop further and further. If TPAW “has taken Huck’s spot” then why is he polling below 5% regularly? Shouldnt he be somewhere closer to where Huck was, if indeed he took his spot? Craig is supporting the ACTUAL candidate to take Huck’s spot: Bachmann. She can’t win so its unfortunate he is wasting him time in that camp…but the point is, TPAW is no Huck, and you are the bitter one.
Dear Craig S. – Don’t let Ron Paul’s measley 10% intimidate you. Omitting Ron Paul from your poll references just makes people ask the uncomfortable questions. Play it cool and don’t blow things for the other establishment candidates….
Still no talk about Ron Paul, the apparent front-runner (in my heart, anyway.) I just don’t understand this country. Has NO ONE even listened to Ron Paul…? He’s the only honest candidate. Now, thank you, but I must go find a credible source of information before I pull (the rest of) my hair out.

Yes, thousands including myself
I guess you’ve never been to Ames, TEX. Well, France is a long way from America’s Heartland of Iowa, so you’re excused, my friend.
Hey, what’s the equivalent of Ames, Iowa over there in your country?
July 31st, 2011 at 9:38 pm
You do not want to go last at AMES.
Every Iowa political operative will tell you this as a fact.
Once again, Craig gets it wrong.
Do you get everything wrong on purpose?
If not, you are amazing…I will leave it at that.

Palin vs Romney
Constitutional Conservatism vs Moderate Political Expediency
Reagan Conservatives vs Rockefeller Republicans
Main St. vs Wall St.
Strong conviction vs unprincipled weakness
Tea Party insurgents vs establishment insiders
That’s it.
Pick a side and lets do this.
