I thought of that wise old saying when I read this in the Washington Post:
LAS VEGAS — Real estate developer Donald Trump unleashed a tirade of profanity in a speech at a boisterous Las Vegas casino as he assured a crowd of adoring supporters Thursday night that he is seriously weighing a presidential run and will make a decision soon.
During a 30-minute stump speech focused mostly on foreign affairs, Trump sprinkled in a number of insults directed toward the nation’s leaders.
“Our leaders are stupid, they are stupid people,” he said. “It’s just very, very sad.”
If yesterday’s Fox Poll is any indication, people are already beginning to tire of the Trump sideshow. I sincerely hope so.

I can’t imagine anyone, but the most extreme of extreme Republicans, actually applauding these sort of attacks. I think this just adds to the mounting evidence in people’s minds that Trump is a lunatic.

Trump’s “Howard Dean” moment could define it pretty well.
April 29th, 2011 at 3:41 pm
Trump is a jackass.
April 29th, 2011 at 3:42 pm
“that Trump is a lunatic”
It’s more farce, IMHO.
April 29th, 2011 at 3:44 pm
I can see a world of people supporting a person like this, they tend to be the majority of the American public. I hope I’m wrong.
April 29th, 2011 at 3:44 pm
I am embarrassed for Republicans who are allowing themselves to be sold on Trump. He has the demeanor of a 3rd world country dictator. That is NOT who I want leading this great nation!
April 29th, 2011 at 3:51 pm
I haven’t heard language like this since the Nixon tapes were released.
And it was in a LAS VEGAS casino of all places.
The Donald’s mouth needs a complimentary bar of hotel soap sent up to his room right away.

5. Don’t worry Deg, those people don’t vote.
April 29th, 2011 at 3:52 pm
7. You make fun…we all know this is how Huckabee talks around the house.
April 29th, 2011 at 3:53 pm
Fortunately, Republicans vote with their brains, not their hearts. It’s fun and exciting to cheer along with someone like Palin or Trump (or even Huckabee) for a while, but I think logic returns once they get to the ballot box.
Democrats, on the other hand…
April 29th, 2011 at 3:53 pm
LOL!
April 29th, 2011 at 3:53 pm
“He has the demeanor of a 3rd world country dictator.”
I’ve noticed this too – he has the mien of a 3rd world dictator.
April 29th, 2011 at 3:55 pm
Actually, that’s not fair to 3rd world dictators …
April 29th, 2011 at 3:59 pm
10. CF..admit it.
You just can’t help yourself can you?
tsk tsk tsk
This is a reflection on you
April 29th, 2011 at 4:00 pm
TRUMP: %$&@)&**!
Strike three and you’re out! Time for the grown ups to take charge. Take Huckabee with you too!
April 29th, 2011 at 4:05 pm
Trump was giving his Kings Speech.
April 29th, 2011 at 4:10 pm
The title of this post describes Trump perfectly.
April 29th, 2011 at 4:19 pm
15.
Was that profanity necessary on a Mark B. Lowe thread?
April 29th, 2011 at 4:27 pm
Some of us were concerned he lacked the polish and temperament for high office. What were we thinking?!
April 29th, 2011 at 4:40 pm
“TRUMP: $@#*!%”
The King’s Speech might start coming after him for plagarizing.
====
Trump’s…erm…language…appeals to the gritty, individualist element of American society that still likes to think of elected leaders as generational fat cats.

I had to do some editing. There are standards on this site. A little more careful if you please.
April 29th, 2011 at 5:01 pm
Thank-you, Craig 4 Huck.
April 29th, 2011 at 6:21 pm
I liked seeing a candidate say what millions of Americans say in their living rooms each night. The stupid leader part. The profanity, I agree, is evidence of a weak and untrained mind.
April 29th, 2011 at 6:26 pm
Maybe Trump has Tourrettes. Either way, the profanity should stop. Speaking clearly about things as they are should continue. Forever.
April 29th, 2011 at 7:54 pm
I just dislike Trump, period. There can’t be many fence-sitters with him.
April 29th, 2011 at 10:21 pm
‘Ouch, my freaking ears hurt!
April 30th, 2011 at 10:19 am
He was just expressing anger… but I honestly think he did it while knowing he won’t run. However, there is one pretty darn successful politician who you can compare Trump to: Boris Yeltsin
