  1. Matthew Kilburn Says:

    While a WV poll this early out is nearly meaningless (any poll right now only counts for so much, but since WV is a convention-state, the final result may or may not reflect the real support in the state)….I think this does prove a point that Romney has hurt himself somewhat maintaining such a low profile – by far, the lowest profile of the big four. He can certainly recover, since he now has the name recognition and underlying structure on which to build a campaign…but he is going to have a recovery period that, I don’t think, he would have had if he had made the effort to stay in the public eye in the manner that Huckabee has.

  2. Craig Says:

    Thank you, Kavon :)

    Busy Friday?

  3. Ray Brun Says:

    Matthew-
    I think his recovery period will get him through the summer and by the time things really heat up around Labor Day he’ll be right where he wants to be. Mr Professionalism and Sobriety.

  4. Matthew Kilburn Says:

    labor day? Thats quite a period to wait for him to make a serious move. It is the whole idea that he will need a recovery period which will make the campaign more difficult and longer than would have been necessary in other circumstances. I dislike criticizing, or even offering a negative opinion about, my candidate – but I do think the “low-profile” play has been a serious misstep, one which has allowed the race to build into more of a broad-field, closer contest than it should have.

  5. Craig Says:

    Hmmm… what are the standings if we only post candidates on the rise:

    2012 West Virginia GOP Primary Survey

    1st Mike Huckabee 28% {22%}
    2nd Newt Gingrich 17% {15%}
    3rd Tim Pawlenty 5% {2%}
    4th Mitch Daniels 2% {1%}

    You mean if you selectively edit out caniddates who post a legitimate threat to the man you worship, or those you have a personal vendetta against?

    Hey – I guess that means I don’t need to count Huckabee in ANY of the rankings…

    Seriously, where have the Romney supporters disappeared to? I concede I’ve been on a hiatus over the last few months, but it seems like the Mittheads aren’t even making a play for the spin game.

  7. Craig Says:

    6.

    You mean John Thune and Ron Paul?

    Did anyone notice that?

  10. MPC Says:

    Matthew,

    People are realizing the futility of arguing between candidates that are different only in tone and style ;)

    Even Bush and Obama are different in no appreciable ways. And our status quo will not change until the people are forced to change it.

  11. Vote for Truth Says:

    Most of the Rombots only come around when Romney wins a poll.

  12. Craig Says:

    VFT,

    ..or to cheer Max on.

  13. Matt "MWS" Says:

    Pawlenty is really starting to get his footing. The only place I’m disappointed with right now is Iowa, which is all important.
