I came across this news while conducting my daily Google search for “nude 18 year old guys.”
Levi Johnston — ostensibly a father of Sarah Palin’s grandson, is going to pose nude for Playgirl.
With this move, Playgirl’s gay female subscribers all over the country are going to be salivating over his hockey stick. Although I guess in the Age of Lady Gaga, it’s now a disco stick. Well, whatever.
Well, I’ll be takin’ a look, at any rate. Either way, this joker’s on his fifteenth minute. Hoping for ephemeral political fame to build you a career is a bridge to nowhere.

Chris Matthews said on Hardball yesterday that we’d win control of the House next year. He was more hawkish than both Howard Fineman and Pat Buchanan, who both predicted around a 25 seat pick up.
It was an interesting conversation. Buchanan sounded ready to surrender in New Jersey but all three of them agreed that Virginia was more important. All three put the likely defeat in Virginia on Obama because they all considered Deeds a strong candidate.
This conversation suggests to me that we’ll get the favorable media narrative coming out of November even if lose New Jersey.

Howard Fineman also promoted the argument derided by Alex that the base (he interprets the base to be older white voters) didn’t show up in Virginia last November and that’s why Obama won by a healthy margin in that state.
Matthews essentially agreed with the analysis and because older white voters will comprise a disproportionate percentage of the electorate in 2010, HOuse Democrats are doomed.

But wasn’t the conventional wisdom at the beginning of Daggett’s rise that he’d help Christie and make it impossible for Corzine to win? It has been turned on its head.
By the way, I’m starting to believe that a Daggett like third-party candidancy in 2012 (e.g. Michael Bloomberg) would help our side, especially a candidate like Palin.

Alex is a very thoughtful and thought provoking guy. He does however illustrate one thing in this post. For the gay community cruising the internet for nude 18YO guys is acceptable. In the hetro community, doing the same for young girls is considered deviant. If the gay community wants to be brought into the mainstream of society, they may want to stop pushing same sex marriage and start addressing what is considered acceptable practice. The way that many gays meet and “date” doesn’t even come close to the standard of hetro dating, at least that is my perception by the activities that the media shows.
I am not writing this to slam gays or Alex. As such an intelligent person Alex is diminishing himself with this admission and waste of time. Alex, you have a unique opportunity to be a leader in your community for change that will benefit all.

But the post was framed completely wrong. It should not have been about sex, but about how this may affect the candidacy of Palin.
In my opinion, this just gives yet more fodder for the Wasilla hillbillies/white trash/soap opera meme surrounding Palin. The truth came out that the marriage of Bristol and Levi was pushed by the Palins to avoid hurting the McCain campaign. They never wanted to get married, apparently.
Palin’s good judgment is in serious doubt here because the perception is that she used both Bristol and Levi to further her political career. Never mind what was best for Bristol – especially at a moment of crisis. It goes back to my feeling that Palin had no business saying yes to McCain in light of her family obligations.
Sorry folks. Palin’s judgment is found lacking in many instances.

46. Richard, you misunderstand me. I believe the Palin’s encouraged the wedding for political reasons, not for the best interest of Bristol and the baby.
I would not enourage such a marriage if I didn’t believe the future son-in-law was a suitable marriage partner for my daughter, rather I would encourage adoption. However, if my daughter and her boyfriend were determined to get married, I would support them and hope for the best.
But, from all accounts, Bristol did NOT want to marry Levi, but agreed to the public show for the sake of Palin’s political reputation. It didn’t take very long after the election for Bristol and Levi to admit they really didn’t want to get married.
I think it’s fairly clear what happened, and it’s not a very good reflection on Palin – although I do admit it was an impossible situation to make right. Just more reason why Palin should have declined VP.

I am often labeled as a Homophobic… and I consider myself proud of that. I don’t want homosexuals exhibit their behavior in public, I don’t want them to have the right to get married and thus being recognized by the state, I don’t want them adopting children, I don’t want them in my workplace or near my family or person.
Homosexuals have chosen to live off their preference in defiance of God, Nature and Mankind. As a society we are guilty in this permissiveness, I propose we do everything in our power to shun them out of our communities. Don’t give them equal rights, equal preferences a place in the workforce… and you’d be surprised how many will straighten out of necessity.
