Reading Kristofer’s call for us to for the thousandth time tell the U.N. to reform itself, I’m reminded of the Dakota Indian saying, “If the horse is dead, dismount.”
To quote Dr. McCoy, “It’s dead, Jim.”
I’ve been following politics for years and have listened to politician after politician stand up and say that we’re going to demand the U.N. reform itself. Why should it reform?
Because we asked it to? Because we said so in a very stern tone of voice.
Of course, it will be protested that we need the U.N. The question is begged as to why. A popular theory was that if the League of Nations had been stronger, Hitler could have been stopped. Yet, in Iraq, we saw how the U.N. deals with International Strongman. If we’d have a League of Nations that was like the U.N., Nazi Germany would have a seat on the Human Rights Commission as happened with Sudan.
Whatever it’s noble purposes, the U.N. exists as a promoter of worldwide socialism, a corrupt misappropriator of funds, and a threat to the captialism and the family through its treaties such as the Convention on the Rights of the Child. On top of this, when it comes to anti-semitism, the folks at the U.N. make the KKK look like the Anti-Defamation League.
It is time to throw these bums off our shores and to stop treating the U.N. like it is a worthwhile international organization, instead of a real-life version of the Cantina from Star Wars, rogues and all, funded at taxpayer expense.

YEAH!! Lets campaign on a platform of dismantling and withdrawing from the UN, amending the Constitution to confrom to GOD’S LAW, ignoring decisions of the Supreme Court if we disagree with them, abolishing the unpopular IRS, etc.!!!
I’m sure that populist rhetoric is the winner!
Down with the UN!! Down with the IRS!! Down with the Supreme Court!! Go Huckabee!! God and Huckabee will lead us to victory!!

If I thought Huckabee would get us out of the U.N. and get rid of the IRS, I would support him. And I despise him.

Dave why in the world do you despise Huckabee? Because he is an intelligent, eloquent, charismatic speaker and politician with a sense of humor to boot???

ITALJOESD,
Huckabee gave the keynote address a number of years ago at an Evangelical convention held in Salt Lake City for the purpose of converting the one and a half million heathen Mormons in the state back to the “Christian” fold. Nearly 20,000 Evangelicals started knocking on doors during that foray, which was cut short as a result of lack of progress.
During the campaign, Huckabee’s allies played on anti-Mormon sentiment in the Evangelical ranks in Iowa to launch a crusade that resulted in victory in the Iowa caucuses, doing more to derail Romney’s candidacy than the combined efforts of all of the other candidates throughout the campaign put together. Huckabee himself added to the anti-Mormon slurs, which royally ticked me off. As a Mormon, I consider his efforts to defame my religion an insult to God Himself. Aside from that, no reason.
