Unemployment Rate Hits 9.7%

After a month of liberals cheering a ‘recovery’ because unemployment fell from 9.5% to 9.4%, a little reality has come crashing back down. Unemployment has risen to 9.7% and employers cut another 216,000 jobs.  Something tells me The One will leave this out of his little speech to Congress.

PS: Hope you all like the new banner!

A recession is when your neighbor loses his job, a depression is when you lose your job, a recovery is when Barack Obama loses his.

  2. OHIO JOE Says:

“PS: Hope you all like the new banner!”

Haha, on this computer, I cannot see Mr. Romney or KBH and I can only see Mr. Jindal’s ear. At least I can post on this computer, I can see Mr. Romney and all of Mr. Jindal on my other computer, but I cannot post.

BTW, it is funny that most of the rest of the world has already turned the corner, but here in Mr. Obama’s Republic, Unemployment still goes up.

  3. Adam Graham Says:

You did a good job the new banner.

  4. OHIO JOE Says:

“A recession is when your neighbor loses his job, a depression is when you lose your job, a recovery is when Barack Obama loses his.” BINGO and if we get a double dip recession, the RINOs and Barakafeller Republicans had better look out, because we unemployed smucks would be commin for them next.

  5. DanL Says:

The new banner is great. Except, why the heck is Sanford on it?

  6. DanL Says:

Oops, nvm to 5, I see he is gone.

  7. Mike Says:

The administration needs to get back the survey people from July who were better trained at getting the ” I am no longer looking for work response ” from unemployed people so when 250,000 jobs are lost like last month they can still say somehow unemployment went down.

I like the new banner and that is the best picture of Huckabee I’ve seen anywhere.

The current is going against an employment recovery anytime soon.

When the stock market tanked a year ago, so did the retirement plans of millions of people, most at the leading edge of the baby boom. Retirement accounts that they had relied on slumped by 40% and would no longer provide a sustainable long-term income. That meant millions of jobs that didn’t open up and tens of millions of promotions that didn’t happen.

As long as the Dow average, to use a familiar index, remains below its previous level of about 14,000, those reaching retirement age in succeeding years will also opt to extend thier stay in the labor force. From 2008 to 2012, that number could reach 7-8,000,000 jobs being retained by workers over the age of 65 who would otherwise have left the job market for retirement, or about 5% of the total labor force.

Meanwhile, about 4 million young people completed their education (be that high school or college) and entered the labor pool. Most years, we can count on only needing to create several hundred thousand new jobs to absorb the new workers. In today’s economic climate, in order to keep from adding those young people to the unemployment roles, we need to create millions of new jobs each year.

The result will be turmoil all up and down the employment chain. Expect disillusionment among the young as they get a lesson in capitalism. It will also feed the anger in old white people. Obama policies will delay growth in the capital markets, increase taxes on their diminished fixed incomes, decrease their medicare benefits. And if they lose their job, will have to find a new job in a shrinking labor market as senior citizen.

The voter turnout profile could be very different in 2010 and 2012.

I am someone who believes in my heart that B.O. intends to weaken this country and turn it into a social state. I also believe that he is a rogue president, bowing to Saudi Kings, contacting the leaders in Iran and making overtures to them (which I believe are codes), etc etc etc.

I am not a college graduate and I am not the best writer, but I am willing to help save our country in ANY way I can. WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP??????????

  13. Mike Says:

Mike G, I agree I think Obama like many left wing loons wouldnt mind Iran having the bomb and he isnt an ally of Israel like most US Presidents.

The Huckabee on the flag above looks like Walker, Texas Ranger.

  26. lkv Says:

It seems as though everything Obama does makes things worse.

He came into office with an agenda, but underestimated the spirit of the American people.
