Mos Def: Definitely Destroyed

Perhaps we can unleash Christopher Hitchens on all of Obama’s celebrity friends and enjoy eviscerations like this on a weekly basis. Rapper/Actor Mos Def’s ignorance got effectively under Hitchens’ skin, leading to a complete beat down that Bill Maher was desperate to save his lefty pal from. I couldn’t stop laughing when he called him ‘Mr. Definitely’. Enjoy.

    typical.

  2. Aaron Says:

That Mos Def guy just demonstrated what it is like to have no capacity for learning.

  3. Win M. Says:

    What. A. Wackjob.

The horrifying ignorance aside, people who pronounce “ask” as “ax” should have their lips cut off.

  4. Alex Knepper Says:

    Mr. Definitely. Hahahahahaha.

AND I AGREE WITH WIN M! That’s such a pet peeve of mine!

  5. GetReal Says:

Look, I’m just axin yous guys to give it a chance.

  6. eric Says:

The worst part of this is that Mos Def is spoken about in the media as if he is a legitimate political activist.

  7. unclebeef Says:

I think Christopher Hitchens is gay right? Either way he is a blood thirsty neocon and Mos Def is just stupid. So why was this posted?

  8. GetReal Says:

7 – What would his sexual orientation have to do with this?

  9. SteveS Says:

I remember late September, 2001 when everyone was trying to figure out the answer to Mos Def’s question. I thought by the end of the month everyone had it pretty much figured out.

  10. Alex Knepper Says:

    Hitchens is married!

    The Swastika and the Cedar
In newly liberated Lebanon, the signposts on “the Arab street” point in opposite directions. The author’s experiences—he was buoyed by a huge rally for democracy in downtown Beirut, then beaten up by Fascist bullies—show how much this diverse society offers hope but is still threatened by the Syrian dictatorship next door.

  13. Adam Brickley Says:

Watching Hitchens beat him up was fun – but I found it even funnier that he wouldn’t listen to someone like Salman Rushdie (who knows a thing or two about radical Islam due to direct experience), and that even Bill Maher felt compelled to inform him that Al-Qaeda and the Taliban are indeed “bad mother******s”

  14. Jerald Says:

    Wow…

I hope Obama can do something to cure the mental disorders of these rappers…

  15. Jerald Says:

Is this an example of a “community disorganizer”?

  16. Casey Says:

Mos Def irked me during that whole interview. He didn’t make sense half the time and was annoying the rest. It was a serious waste of my DVR space.

  17. Win M. Says:

Why is every celebrity that comes of Maher’s show identified as an “activist”? Activist for what, exactly? Rank ignorance?

  18. TarheelRepublican Says:

What’s almost annoying as Mos Def’s ignorance are the people in the background applauding him as he makes irrelevant remarks to draw attention away from the fact that he’s lost the argument.

What are those people clapping for? You’d think they didn’t hear anything that was said at all save for the comments they were applauding
