I caught this bit of Huckabee’s while channel surfing. While humorous on the one hand, on the other it is undignified and frankly, I was only slightly amused at the first mention of the anachronym. When he kept repeating it I was less amused. After that, I found the whole thing a bit obnoxious. Like I said, undignified for a guy with presidential aspirations. But then I feel that way about all bathroom humor.
Hucks got a big opening with his populist themes given the times…fact is the 2012 GOP nominee has already been selected and the GOP winner is George W Bush…obama and dems will run against bush more than whoever gets the actual GOP nomination in 2012…that helps palin and huckabee since they have star power in palin’s case and populism in hucks…which should help separate them from the bush years if either of those two got the nomination…it hurts romney since it will be harder for him to separate himself from the establishment/bush years in a general election…thus romney should be focused on running for senate in 2010 in new hamp and forgot about the white house, i do think he would make a nice veep for palin though if she got the nomination…as for hucks veep, think he might need to pick john huntsman to throw a bone to the romney supporters to make sure the gop isn’t’ fractured or go with female.
Undignified? Hmm. off the top of my head, Obama blasted “I’ve got 99 problems but a bitch aint one” when he and his family entered the stage for his victory speech. He flipped McCain and Hillary the bird on his stump speeches. And he somehow found it fitting to inject Judd Gregg into honoring Lincoln’s 200th anniversary.
your dreaming blue. There is nothing to convince Utah to vote for Huckabee. Most cannot support Huckabee no matter who he wants on his ticket. No VP could make a bitter pill easier to swallow. Besides Huntsman is less and less conservative as time goes on. After all, he supported McCain in the primary.
Let’s keep it simple…if things are turned around in the economy in 2012, obama wins big in 2012…if things are lousy, hucks populism themes might catch fire within the GOP primary more so than a former bain capital, harvard MBA guy worth 300M bucks and owns five expensive houses, voters are gonna be pissed…romney needs things to be so-so in the ecomony but than he will running against the ghost of GWbush along with obama…romney’s best bet= running for us senate in 2010 in new hamp and defer his prez dreams till 2016 after 8 years of obama (endorse palin and hope to get picked for veep). As for a huck/huntsman ticket, i think it works and yeah, huck would be foolish to pick anybody else…another thing, if the hostility between romney and huck supporters doesn’t end, neither has a chance to ever get elected to the white house, ie huckabee needs to win the mountain west states just as badly as romney needs to win some southern states.
Huckabee has done a great job of getting citizens involved regarding the spendulous bill. He has encouraged them to contact their senators/congressperson regarding the spendulous and Geithner. He has numerous guests on his show talking about the economy and how it effects everyday citizens. He has listed and talked about specific pork in the bill so that citizens know what is in the package. And most recently he let everyone know that they would be getting $13 a week and asked them to write in saying what they would do with their $13.00.
He has used his show to spread his conservative message, yet he does not come across angry or look like he is constantly blaming the democrats. He uses his great sense of humor to get his message out to the public. Don’t forget the bailhouse rock song that was created and sung on his show a few months back.
While I had hoped that Huckabee would be president, I have found what he has done with his success to be most helpful to all Americans. Imagine if he is able to do this for the next three years-yes, he will have expanded his base and fired up Americans looking for a better answer than Obama.
I don’t think Huckabee is funny as a comedian unless he is making fun of himself as he was on SNL that one time about the time he was going to drop out. That was pretty funny. In the interest of keeping the peace, I’ll withhold the rest of my comments.
With a media covering for him no matter how bad it gets, black voters in reddish-purple swing states, and fundraising near $1 billion, Obama is going to be a tough candidate to beat in 2012. We need to try to win, of course, but we need to take that opportunity to (RE)TEACH conservatism to the entire nation. Sorry to be a broken record with this, but Huckabee can be one of those teachers. I can see Palin winning Iowa and Jindal being a fresh VP pick, but let them come onto the scene in 2016. They’ve got time and so do we if we can get Congress back.
For 2012, I want two proven candidates for POTUS and VP on the Republican side that are out there connecting with people and explaining what is going on. My litmus test is being able to win the second town hall debate McCain had against Obama. That was the most frustrated I’ve been since Admiral Stockdale took his hearing aids out.
Right now, those candidates are Romney, Giuliani, Sanford, Pawlenty, and the Huckster. I would be ecstatic for any combination of them on the ticket and I’d prefer the Huckster to be the VP. At the top he would be too divisive.
I love Palin, Jindal, Cantor, and Ryan. But I just don’t know if they’re ready for primetime in 2012. It’s a LONG way away though.
Well, I don’t know about getting fatter but he did get a nice set of veneers last year. Gotta have that Hollywood smile for TV. The former smile was a little bit, dare i say, Gomer.

Good stuff. I’ve hit upon something similar to the Christian hate-the-sin-love-the-sinner: I hate the Huck but I love this line.

“obama and dems will run against bush more than whoever gets the actual GOP nomination in 2012″
…and look like fools in the process.

The Huckster at his best – undignified. A blatant attempt to pander to the Hillbilly vote.

Oh, you Rombots need to lighten up.
I realize this isn’t as funny as Romney asking a black toddler about his “bling bling,” but c’mon, it was kind of clever.

Jeez…who let the dogs out?

Lol
Also not as funny as when he starting singing “Who let the dogs out”!!

“I think he is getting fatter.”
Huck started putting some pounds back on after the primaries.

Huckabee = CRAP
He is damaging the GOP. I wish he would go away forever.

what an ironic and moronic statement. Rick Perry. blah. what a sellout and liar.
