#2 “the ears are quite ridiculous. the art needs work.”
That’s the POINT of a caricature. Exaggerate the features to the point of ridiculousness.
As for the theme of the cartoon…I don’t get it. What “alliance?” How are they “buddy-buddy?” Just because Rev Warren is giving the invocation (or whatever)? Pres Obama offered, and Rev Warren accepted, because it’s a win for both (more publicity for Rev Warren and his good works, and Pres Obama is seen to be reaching out). Neither have given ground on any issue. The fact that they’re both catching some heat for this (I imagine Rev Warren’s being asked about it at church) shows the utter ridiculousness of politics nowadays.
Ah,,no Richard. All the features of both characters are exaggerated, as caricature. The ears are way over the top though.
As for the alliance – I dont understand your comment. You claim not to understand what the alliance is all about, and then you explain what it is all about quite well. Its an alliance of mutual benefit – each gets something they want. Whats not to understand?
Tano, you might want to think about rationing your gripes a bit. I mean, really… who cares about the damned ears in a cartoon? Is it even worth bitching about?
Tano, I guess I’m being hypertechnical here. I see this more as a singular event than as an alliance. They aren’t planning on a tour across the country, and Pres Obama isn’t planning on opening an office for Rev Warren in the White House.

Well, at least we won’t have to hear Obama’s preacher damning America this way.
