“Change” = “More of the Same” Yet Again

From MSNBC (of all places), we get another shot of Obama-hypocrisy (Obamocrisy?):

The Boston Globe’s front-page headline: “Obama softens ban on hiring lobbyists.” “President-elect Barack Obama, who vowed during his campaign that lobbyists ‘won’t find a job in my White House,’ said through a spokesman yesterday that he would allow lobbyists on his transition team – as long as they work on issues unrelated to their earlier jobs. … ‘That is a step back and there is no other way of seeing it,’ said Craig Holman, who lobbies on governmental affairs for the watchdog group Public Citizen.

That’s change we can believe in, folks. Uh-huh. That noise you hear might be the halo falling from around the Obamessiah’s head.

UPDATE: Turns out this is even more hypocritical than first reported. The ban on lobbyists working on issues related to their previous jobs only applies if the lobbyist in question had lobbied for that issue within the past year. So if you’re a lobbyist who lobbied 13 months ago for something, welcome aboard the brand new Obama administration in whatever area you’d like to be in!

pMSNBC has to be the worst “journalism” out there today. These guys are so in the tank for all things liberal that even the one & only Keith Olbermann admits that they are liberally biased.

  2. Matt C Says:

Which is what makes this story from them so noteworthy, cwpete – even the liberal MSM can’t hide Obama’s hypocrisy.

  3. Richard L Says:

Obama has not even taken office yet. Yet, I guess Bush is defended on here by many no matter what. Bush is still the president lamb duck or not for two more months. Yet, I don’t see many on here saying that this conservative president made serious mistakes.

I can say Reverse Bradley Affect

  4. Richard L Says:

Second, I guess McCain had no lobyist working for him as he said. Thats right he is a Republican so what he does is gold and okay just like Bush. Repub can do no wrong right?

  5. cwpete Says:

    Yes Matt C:

“Which is what makes this story from them so noteworthy, cwpete – even the liberal MSM can’t hide Obama’s hypocrisy.”

Indeed, I guess they are reaping what they sow.

  6. cwpete Says:

Also… there is a reason why MSNBC has more letters in it’s name than viewers. Their program is only for the most radical of leftists..

  7. fran Says:

This is no surprise. Once he went back on his word about public financing, it was pretty obvious he was the same old politician.

  8. MWS Says:

So once it’s been over a year since Tony Raines was canned in disgrace from Fannie Mae, he can be the Mortgage Czar!

  9. MatthewK Says:

I don’t have a big problem with lobbyists – why should any cause be excluded from trying to convince politicians to support their cause? Openness is the key.

That said, Obama said one thing, and did another. the GOP ad factory should be working overtime.

  10. Hunter Says:

And how many people ended up giving a rip when Obama lied about public financing? This won’t have much effect either, I’m afraid.

  11. TonyK Says:

    TonyK
It is a very powerful Barry’s mantra: tang te la tang tang tang, change change change,…we do not believe him !

the World say Barry is a phenomenon, I said : he is just a lucky man.
