McCain had a 2pt lead in this yesterday.

  2. Houston Says:

They changed methodology and dropped hard weighting by party ID.

  3. Me Says:

If Obama’s up in BG, he is truly ahead.

  4. AuH20 Says:

What? No more doomsday predictions from Kavon today because Congress didn’t pass the $700 Billion Heist? I thought that 6.98% drop in the stock market yesterday meant it was the end of the world. Oh well. Guess we’ll have to settle for an already-stabilized stock market, a surging Dollar, and $700 billion of taxpayer money left unredistributed.

  5. nyc.indy Says:

the stock market is surging with the expectation that something will get done.. if it doesn’t look out.

buy on the rumor sell on the news.

  6. Jeff Says:

stock rebound today in part due to the over-selloff yesterday due to auto stop-loss trades that kicked in

Now that Battleground has McCain down, can we finally admit that this isn’t a case of a overweighting of Dems, or weekend polling, or some other excuse? There is momentum happening here – but not on our side. The economic picture, Friday’s debate and the failure of Congress to pass some type of economic package means that not only are the polls not on our side – but time is no longer on our side… Time for McCain to be McCain. Look far downfield and throw the long ball.

  8. Richard M Says:

#7, I’ll give you that Sen Obama has momentum, and even likely has a lead. I think that it’s a bit overblown due to the factors you mentioned, but it’s real, and pretending it isn’t is a sure way to lose. That said, what would you deem to be the “long ball” that Sen McCain should throw, or are you not sure what it would be?

  9. frank (#2) Says:

    # 7

Oh but it is oveweighting of Dem’s. They changed their weighting policy. Look at the fine details in their chart. They stopped weighting by party.
