Encouraging numbers against Obama, but I personally want to see how this breaks down stat-by-state (I have a feeling that both the Obama vote and the Anti-Obama vote could be highly concentrated in certain geographic areas).
Though I have a few ideas about how to get that vote total up…Most of them revolve around Sarah Palin, who was had a major interview with Chris Cillizza of the Washington Post yesterday and was mentioned for VP by the American Spectator, the Weekly Standard blogg (twice yesterday), and Rush Limbaugh.

The thing about Rasmussen is that he’s schizophrenic. If McCain is really ahead of Obama by 3 points then McCain is not really down 10 against Obama in Pennsylvania as his PA poll suggests.

Palin who? Oh, OK… I read your stuff.
Just as I did not like Romney as a one-term wonder governor without a proven track record (the real fiscal impact of Romney-Hillary Care has yet to be felt in Massachusetts, etc., etc.), I would be hesitant of Palin in ’08.
On a day with William F. Buckley Jr. passing, I am wondering where all the proven and experienced conservatives have gone?

I hope JMac’s bump is not the temporary result of the NYT hit piece and more a function of conservatives warming to him and American’s waking up the the shortcomings of messiah.

The vote total won’t be the only thing htta Gov Palin will get up. jk.
Charles, but she’s not running for President. The VP basically does nothing. And throughout history no one has really voted for a ticket because of the VP. There are exceptions(Johnson cheating in TX in 1960), But I don’t think Edwards, Cheney, Lieberman, Gore, Kemp, Quayle, Bentsen really added any votes to the total.
That said, all this VP talk is meaningless until we see who Obama picks. The names I’ve seen listed include Sen Webb, Gen Zinni, Gov Sebelius. If he goes with Webb or Zinni, we’ll be in big trouble and we’ll need someone who will shore things up in the South and among the male vote and I think Thompson or Sanford gets the nod there.
If he goes with Sebelius, Palin would seem like a pure token choice and really wouldn’t add anything.
