A frightening day at MyManMitt.com

Erick Erickson has been touting the mantra: “Down with punditry.  Up with activism.”  We whole-heartily agree.  Over at MyManMitt we’ve put up a quick splash page for Halloween to raise some money for the campaign.  This is something we’ve done periodically throughout the  year.

In short, we drive traffic to the site with quality information and them move our audience from readers to pundits to activists.  Its worked pretty well to date.  We’ve raised almost $80,000.

I’m hoping the model and the key learnings we’ve had from this process will be helpful to all of us once the nominee is known (Mitt or Rudy).

I haven’t broached this subject with Kavon yet… but what do you think?   What role should Race42008.com play in the general election?  Just news and punditry?  What kind of activism should we promote here if any?

That will be up to Kavon. I think we can do both though.

  2. PabloZed Says:

Romney as prez is pretty damn scary!! Plus, Huck needs the money more.

  3. Justin Hart Says:

Pablo… kind of a catch-22 isn’t it. To be President, you need to raise money. Mitt is good at raising money, Huck isn’t. So… is that a direct corollary?

Coming back to the question again. One of the serious factors in choosing a nominee for the GOP should be: who can raise enough money to beat Hillary?

  4. cwpete Says:

Justin, I commend you for your fund raising efforts.

Instead of waiting for the next rally for Romney, I was going to start fund raising for Q4 by mid-November. Nearly anyone could spare a few bucks here and there.

If anyone is reading who has never donated before, do it. It is easy, it is safe and secure. The liberals have out raised Republicans by a healthy margin so far. From the Hillary videos posted yesterday, it is clear that the Clintons have not been ethical with their fund raising. Surprise ugh?

As to what role I think this site should play in the 2008 election, I think it should be the same with more emphasis on fund raising. We’ve got to fund raise if we expect to be a viable party in 2008.

The real question is what do we do on Jan. 20th, 2009?

I’m thinking of a Home and Garden/Home Improvement, do-it-yourself kinda thing personally.

    Kavon,

Consider advocating for Republican causes by focusing on the 2010 mid elections, news, and other conservative events.

  7. Clarence Claus Says:

Kavon, we can help GOP candidates for 2010 and then help Romney’s re-election bid for 2012.

Mitt really shouldn’t mention the other candidates’ hair – as bad as his looked at the FOX debate!

The above site means that RP will earn ~$1,344,000 in one day. I just found it sort of interesting.
