This morning, the Romney campaign announced the endorsement of Wayne Allard, a great conservative Senator from Colorado. Allard had this to say about Mitt:
“After reviewing Governor Romney’s impressive resume and having the opportunity to visit one-on-one with him about his vision of innovation and change for America, I am proud to announce my endorsement of him. Governor Romney will bring a much needed breath of fresh air to Washington, something the country really desires.”
This gives Romney his 5th Senate endorsement, and along with his previous endorsement from ex-CO Governor Bill Owens (who many floated early as a possible ’08 candidate) shows his relative strength in Colorado. Coming this afternoon: an Endorsement Race update!

Colorado is my home state. I’m very pleased with this news..

Odd note. Has anyone noticed that Romney seems to be attracting an awful lot of promiment people who wear glasses? Three of his five senators (Craig, Bennett, Allard) and one former senator (Talent). Considering the real lack of people with glasses in politics, it seems like a pretty interesting coincidence (I wear glasses, so I notice how underrepresented we are).

cwpete, you’ll also be happy then when you remember that former US Rep Bob Beauprez has also endorsed Romney, as has one of the 3 RNC Committeemen/women from that state. Looks like he’s just about got Colorado sewn up as far as endorsements go.

HeavyM,
I’m waiting for Marylyn Musgrave’s endorsement to also go Mitt’s way, we’ll see if that happens. I voted for Bob Beauprez as governor last election but Ritter won out. Colorado really has turned Blue recently.
