Our old pal Patrick Ruffini drops a note to inform us that, per Politico, Mayor Giuliani will be addressing the upcoming CPAC conference.
Juxtapose this with the supposedly more conservative John McCain avoiding the confab.
This is an enormously courageous move for Hizzoner and speaks well of his willingness to court movement types.
I reported a piece last month about how Rudy and McCain were skipping some conservative conferences. One of the events I mentioned that they had not yet RSVP’d to is the Grandaddy Of Them All — the Conservative Political Action Conference or CPAC.
Turns out Rudy will attend CPAC. He’ll speak to the confab Friday.

“supposedly more conservative John McCain”
It will come down to this: Who do you trust, Rudy or McCain?
I think the decision will be very easy for most conservatives.

Great point
Rudy is not afraid of social conservatives beacuse has not offended us. McCain has

It will come down to this: Who do you trust, Rudy or McCain?
And then when they say neither, they will vote for Romney.

Does anybody know which candidates WILL be attending the event?
February 25th, 2007 at 10:27 pm
So far Guiliani, Brownback, Romney. It seems like I heard Newt also.

Good move by Rudy. This is the type of thing that could have hurt him if he didn’t attend.

In addition to Guiliani, Brownback, and Romney, Huckabee will also be at CPAC.

Rudy Giualini is nowhere to be found on the CPAC schedule, his decision to join those speaking at CPAC must be very recent.
Newt Gingrich is a CPAC regular, and will be the final speaker of the event.

Jason,
I realize that you are new here and I realize that you are Romney man. I would like to simply suggest to you, that the difference between Rudy’s flip-flops and Romney’s, is that Rudy’s were because of personal convictions whereas Romney’s were because of political ambition. The sooner you realize this, the sooner you will come to the conclusion that Rudy is the better, STRONGER conservative and leader.

Unless Rudy really is a social liberal, his “flip flops” were definitely NOT from personal convictions. Rudy probably ran for NY mayor as pro-abortion and anti-gun because he knew that he could never have been elected mayor if he expressed more conservative views on abortion and gun control. In fact, Rudy ran for mayor much further to left socially than Romney did when we ran for Mass. governor.

I can give you a report from CPAC and how the people respond to Rudy.
As a delegate, it gives me access to all the speakers and a ringside seat
to witness the uproar if any protestor stands up against Rudy.
You know there is no mainstream reporter who would tell you about it.
Washington DC is an interesting seat of our federal government and CPAC
will have a HUGE impact on where the conservative-wing of the GOP will go.
If Rudy has baggage hurting him, it will show up at CPAC too.

First of all, finally we get a woman on this blog. Welcome, Sandra. PLEASE DO give us a full report after the ACPAC on Friday.

Oops…I meant CPAC.
