Here’s Morris’ most recent take on ’08:
Dick Morris is no fan of Sen. Hillary Clinton, having spent much of the past decade writing and speaking out against her. And he took his always-quotable opinions to the offices of Americans for Tax Reform Wednesday at a breakfast sponsored by The American Spectator.
Dick’s greatest hits:
? Although Barack Obama is an “exciting phenomenon,” he is the equivalent of “political stem cells: You can make him into any tissue you want.”
? “It is in the national interest that, if there is a Democratic president, that it not be Hillary.”
? “The Republican field is like the New York Yankees: They’ve got a pitching rotation of really great names who are 45 years old and who probably won Cy Young Awards when they were younger. But they’ll have a sore arm by the World Series and will end up on the [disabled list]. Republicans need to look to the minor leagues.”
? He laid out the political future: “Hillary will be the next president, and she’ll be the worst president we’ve ever seen.” No matter what happens, the situation in Iraq will “assure that the GOP gets massacred in 2008 congressional elections.” In 2010, the Republicans will take back the Congress “Hillary will give Republicans the same gift she gave them in 1994″ and they’ll win the presidency in 2012, but thanks to demographic shifts favoring Republicans (sic) (namely the rising Hispanic and African-American populations), “that will be the last Republican president we’ll ever see.”
Morris was a good strategist, but is horrible at predictions. Given that almost all of Morris’ public predictions have been wrong, does that mean that a Republican will win in ’08, the GOP won’t take a beating at the congressional level, we won’t win back Congress in ’10, and a Democrat will be elected in ’12?

Morris is always making these sweeping predictions that he assures us are set in stone. I will start to worry when one of them comes true.
He is very entertaining though. I do enjoy watching/reading him.

DaveG, appropriate headline to this story. Morris has become such a joke in political analyst circles – it’s almost painful to watch him look into his version of the future (whatever it may be that day)!

Morris does have a few good points. I think that Hillary, along with all the support of the mainstream media, is going to be very tough to beat.
Rudy is the only candidate that can defeat her and save the GOP in from a complete wipeout.

I always chuckle when I hear, “coming up next on Fox News, Dick Morris gives his views on…”
He’s always wrong on his predictions. Always.

Morris predicted in 2003 that Cruz Bustamante would be the next Governor of California. Literally, that didn’t come to pass. But, in a sense, Morris was right.
