Another Awkward Exploratory Committee Website URL

Mike Huckabee, today officially announcing the formation of his presidential exploratory committee, has joined the club of Republicans with weird, and kind of creepy, website url’s.

Huckabee’s exploratory website can be found at: http://www.ExploreHuckabee.com

I’m sorry, but if I wanted to do that, I’d be a proctologist.

To be fair, all in all, it’s a nice site.

    Ewwww Woody…..!

Reminds me of some things overheard at a proctologist’s office once:

“Careful, Doc – you’re boldly going where no man has gone before!”

“Hey Doc – can you call my wife and let her know my head isn’t up there?”

“Doc, let me know if you find my pride in there…”

That’s definitely a strange site address. I really wish they had picked a better one — I think he’s really going to be a formidable candidate despite the ‘long shot’ odds.

I think you are giving him too hard a time. It is the site for an EXPLORatory committee, after all.

Overall, the site was detailed and had a delightfully wonkish feel at times while being accessible. Parts of it were not as shiny and polished as Romney’s site though.

  5. Peter Says:

    Wasn’t there an “Explore McCain?”

  6. Woodrow Eisenhower Says:

    Peter,

    Yes.

  7. Sean Says:

I really wish this guy were exploring a Senate bid instead.

  8. Peter Says:

    Sean,

I was thinking the same about Romney. Imagine him going up against THE TEDSTER again?

  9. Matt Says:

Well, Teddy isn’t up for re-election til 2012, so that’d be peculiar. He could take on Mr. Kerry in 08, but considering the most popular Republican politician probably in Massachusetts history (he won re-election for governor with 71% of the vote in 1994), Bill Weld faced Kerry in 96′ and lost by 10 points, and considering Romney lost to Kennedy by 17 points in 1994 but that was still collectively 20+ points better then the average Republican has done against Kennedy, its pretty clear that a Massachusetts Republican senator is just an impossibility. People are talking about Curt Schilling running in 08′ against Kerry, and I’m not even confident his immense celebrity would do the trick.

  10. Peter Says:

Sen. Curt Schilling? Tell me more!

  11. Matt Says:

Some caller to a radio station suggested it, and a huge wave of calls came in supportive of the idea. Then they talked to Curt and he was basically like, “I’m flattered, and I won’t rule it out, but I’m not sure that’s where I want to go”. He supports McCain but also had some kinds words to say about Obama, so he’s likely to be a fairly moderate Republican. Having brought Boston its first World Series in 80+ years, if Schilling can’t beat Kerry then its simply an impossible proposition.

    I like Mike!

Play that bass guitar on Letterman, Mike!
