What does Tommy Thompson think he can win, what distinguishes him from the rest of the field, and what about him will resonate with voters? I fail to see why he’s running.
He’s more conservative than several of the top guys, and has a longer track record than most of the candidates. At this point in the game that’s all the reason he needs to run. I don’t know that much about his accomplishments as governor – I wish I did, from what I’ve seen I like – but that’s why you get in early, to get your name and story out there. On the surface, however, what’s not to like: A conservative, popular governor from a mid-western purple state. I’ll give him a shot.

He’s too much like Bush. Not enough gravitas to get elected on a national level.
